And all of a sudden the sacks are his fault huh?...gee I seem to think its 11 guys that make a team and a few of those are suppose to keep their QB standing up...but hey, a lot easier to blame Daunte right?...and in what planet is a 7 out of 9 day a bad outing?...maybe if my boy was throwing knifes at a girl pin to a spinning wheel that would be a bad day...but on planet NFL it is a darn good day...a better day then a guy name Vick or McNabb had, not to mention a dozen other starters not coming back from injury. Look, just cause you don't like the man, doesn't mean you have to wear a set of horse blinders when evaluating a performance... Come on dude...its okay to hate my boy...that's your option...but to say he had a bad day doesn't make for a very abstute observation. |

| Re: Culpepper: Overrated Boob Culpepper's line for game 1 18/37 262 yards 0 TDs 2 interceptions ESPN.com - NFL - Boxscore looks about like an overrated boob to me but im sure GDK will find a silver lining and a way to tell me im crazy somehow the interceptions werent his fault right ? heck id say Culpepper didnt even look as good as the #'s show many of the passes were to wide open people less then 10 yards away (yes i know, every QB has those kinds of completions) and Welker had some great catch and runs, which really added to his yardage total if my math is correct 18/37 is about a 48.6 completion percentage not exactly stellar

Though, there are two silver linings... 1) I trade Culpepper in a deal for Peyton Manning in one of my fantasy leagues (it did cause me one of my backs as well)... 2) The guy I traded Culpepper too...played against me yesterday!...how cool is that?... So yes...Silver Linings... I am sure we will revisit this thread SS... |

| Re: Culpepper: Overrated Boob ive been a dolpins fan all my life and ive yet to see ne QB that was not a choker since dan marino..... feidler was ok but choked too much....lucas was a choker wen he had to fill in for fiedler for a lot of games ..... griese was totally overated and also choked wen they needed it most....i remember a rookie quarter back that i had never heard of win the game at the last second on 4th down and goal on the 10> yard line but i dont know what happened to him..... then theres culpepper....he choked against the steelers when we needed him most.... he showed how terrible he was wen his only pases were to booker and chambers which eventually lost us the game because all they had to do was double team those key players and they would shut us down ...which is just what happened...he forced the ball to those same two guys regardless of the pass coverage and thats why hes no good... because he's not complete without a grt reciever |

| Re: Culpepper: Overrated Boob I dont think Culpepper is really rated that high right now considering last year's Mossless Viking stats. Thursday he looked slimmed down and showed very good pocket prescence against the toughest defense in the league. His stats in the game werent great but all things considering I think he did very well. The Dolphins made a great move by getting him and I think hes going to get better as he gets acquainted with Chris Chambers. |

I use to live two blocks from the Orange Bowl as a kid during their Glory Days...I remember the 72 team... Still, Culpepper is a step up from what they had last year...and for all of Marino's heroics, they never had a complete team around him...so they might be better off with a game manager and a great running game...though I suspect they are going to miss Ricky Willams this year. How do you like the signing of Lee Suggs? |

| Re: Culpepper: Overrated Boob Welcome to the GoTeamsGo Fan Forum, phinfan72. I hope you continue to share your memories and thoughts about the Dolphins with us in the future. In response to Jay Fiedler, I think you are on track. I thought Fiedler was a decent quarterback but had his strength and weaknesses. He did a sufficient job as quarterback, but was nothing special. I spoke with him numerous times during his career, and he was a very nice and respectful gentleman. Unlike a handful of quarterbacks who are uneducated and very hard to communicate with, he was one of the best I ever spoke to as a sports journalist. |
