Most Memorable NFL Game Field Gulls :: Summer Sunday Open Thread: The NFL Game That Changed Your Life has an interesting discussion going on right now: "What NFL game will you always remember? Which one did you see in the stands, or on the TV, that most exemplifies why you love this game?" The first one I ever went to was a game between the Browns and the Giants, so that one really sticks in my mind. Vinnie Testaverde was QB for Cleveland and he threw a bullet pass right into his guard's buttocks that I swear made this 300-pounder leap two feet off the ground! Plus, New York came away with the 'W'. I was a big fan at the time, so that really made my day. The only downside was that I was young and stupid, and I arrived at Municiple Stadium wearing a Giants coat. Not only was I "fined" five bucks for charity because I was wearing it ( What about you guys? What great stories do you have to share? Last edited by Lefty Noob : 07-15-2006 at 07:53 PM.

Re: Most Memorable NFL Game My favorite NFL game was a Giants/Eagles Week 17 game from 2002 (the year they ended up losing to San Fran....the worst NFL game ever). At Giants stadium with a playoff spot on the line. The game was a defensive masterpiece. The Eagles scored early in the game but never again, it was 7-0 Philly going late into the 4th. Kerry Collins hit Jeremy Shockey in the endzone who literally grabbed the ball out of the hands of Brian Dawkins (on the way down, did some talking as well lol). Game went into overtime where David Akers missed a potential game winning field goal. Giants got the ball and Matt Bryant kicked the game winning field goal.

Re: Most Memorable NFL Game Two of my most memorable games came for the Cowboys during the Parcells era. The first was at the Meadowlands when Billy Cundiff kicked a 52 yard field goal to send the game into OT. He kicked a 25 yarder there to win the game. The next was the same year. Cowboys beat the Panthers and a teary Parcells declared, "They cant call them losers anymore." The year the Rams won the Super Bowl. I can still see that Titan trying to stretch that yard. Another was the NFC playoffs I think. The Packers and the Rams. Favre threw a record high 5 interceptions that day. The Packer fans here got up and left early. My grandson and I had a ball. The game of the infamous Tuck Rule. Players had more snow on their helmets than we had on the ground at the time. Patriots got lucky there. The warm weather team was holding their own in the snow and the cold.

Re: Most Memorable NFL Game The defining NFL game for me was the 1982 playoff game between the 49ers & the Cowboys when Dwight Clark made "The Catch" from Montana sealing the victory that sent them to the Super Bowl that year. I was 12 years old and not a fan of either team, but that game & that play in particular stood out to me for what makes NFL playoff games such fun to watch.....
