According to this story by USA Today, the average NFL starter earns more than $2.25 million dollars. Furthermore, "The NFL Players Association's research department says the average player salary rose 5% in 2005 to $1.4 million... The average for quarterbacks, running backs and offensive tackles was in excess of $3 million."
