I'm also of the opinion that the officiating sucked, and of course I would have liked to see the Seahawks win. But when it comes down to it, we've got to accept the outcome (not that we have a choice). That's why they have officials in the first place. Still, when we can see a play's wrong on the screen, why can't they? Don't they have some kind of replay capability?

Alright, so there were three major calls that went against Seattle. 1) Offensive interference - Yes, the ref was right. But, why call something that close. 2) Holding - Right call again. Still it was pretty close. 3) Ben across the goaline? - The rulebook states that the refs made the right call. Another close one. In all three of these the refs were right. But, it really begs the question. When will the NFL make significant changes to the game? All in all, Seattle still dropped the ball....literally.

Hi, davetex, and thanks for joining us here at GoTeamsGo! Don't forget that there also was the matter of the personal foul called on Hassleback after the interception. That truly was a blown call, no one can argue that. He was clearly going for the tackle. On the whole, though, the Seahawks had plenty of opportunities to come back win the game. They ultimately just didn't get the job done.

NFL referees Whether or not a person agrees with NFL referees, a few calls, whether good or bad, cannot be blamed for the outcome of a game. The Seahawks and Steelers played 60 minutes worth of football. If a call doesn't go one's way, it is important to make adjustments. Also, it's part of sports. It's one of the reasons we watch sports. Take out the controversy, and take out what keeps people watching.

Re: Refs Decide SuperBowl XL? Whether they changed the outcome of the game or not has been debated for a year now but one thing is certain...they called it like it was a touch football game. WAY too tight. Seeing old men throw hankies isn't entertaining.

| Re: Refs Decide SuperBowl XL? The refs in the NFL have been blowing games for years, all the way back to Drew Pearson's Hail Mary Pass catch against the Vikings. One bad holding call on a big gain followed by an interception after you have put into a hole can make the difference. And even replay doesn't help half the time.
