With the news today (9/8/08 - for archiving purposes) that Tom Brady will miss the rest of the season due to an injury, the obvious victims of this injury are the fans and teammates of Brady.
But what about the guy who caused the injury? The "culprit" so to speak?
This is a person who now becomes intrinsically tied to the star player for all time. If Brady never plays another down because of this injury - which is probably not going to happen - this guy becomes the cause of the end of his stellar career!
Rodney Harrison was the reason why Kurt Warner became a champion. When he hit Trent Green and knocked him out for the season, Kurt Warner came to light and the rest is history. The point is, years later, we still know who hurt Green. Steve Young played his last down on national TV on a Monday Night when Aeneas Williams came off a missed block by Lawrence Phillips to end his career. I remember that hit to this day!
Anyone ever heard of Bernard Pollard? No? Well, now you have.
