| Cracking down on hooligans(not the players) NFL Commish Roger Goodell will be issuing a fan conduct policy that will hopefully forestall a ban on alcohol at NFL games. It will be out before the start of the season. The league might have thought it had a fan behavioral problem when: 1995: Giant fans pelted opposing equipment manager with ice balls until he was unconscious 1997: over 60 fistfights broke out at Veterans Stadium prompting Philadelphia to assign a municipal judge at the stadium on game days. 2000: Raider fan stabbed a Chargers fan 2001: Browns showered the field with plastic beer bottles 2003: Three Charger fans beat a Jaguars fan unconscious 2007: Kids at a Jets game at the Meadowland witnessed men screaming at women to bare their breasts (and women obliging) And on and on it goes. FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - The NFL has not wanted to admit it had a drunken fan epidemic. So if Goodell does this and succeeds at pressuring teams to handle the problem, is it going to hurt the NFL?
