Not this fall Lefty from what I read on NFL.com. If they have some sort of work stoppage it would be in 2010 when the cap is officially gone. However the NFL is the lifeblood of America and I can't see them skipping a season and not playing the Super Bowl because the NFL is big business for a lot of corporations. I'm a pessimist by nature but I do think that they'll get a new deal worked out somehow to avoid a strike.

Yeah, I've heard that now as well. The next three seasons are locks, even without a new deal.
Seems odd, but it gives them a lot of time to get things worked out, so I'm all for it.

I hope for the sake of the NFL and the sake of the game, there is no lockout. We saw what happened to the NHL after their lockout, now then Football is more popular than hockey, but still a year is long time for people to forget about a sport. No lockout please.

In terms of rules yes but the NHL's popularity free falled and now is behind Arena Football in terms of TV ratings. I mean you'd like to think the the Players Association and the Owners would see that they're making a ton of money and not jeopardize that like baseball did in 1994 and come to an agreement after some discussion. Then again this is pro-sports and it seems that the 4 major sports have a certain self destructive quality to them. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Hey I thought Roger Goodall had Gene Upshaw on a leash?
