NFL's biggest comeback?

by Alex Marvel
Alex Marvez is a Senior NFL Writer for FOXSports.com. He's covered the NFL for 13 seasons as a beat writer and is the president of the Pro Football Writers of America. Here are 10 of his choices.
  1. Miami RB Ronnie Brown
  2. St. Louis QB Marc Bulger
  3. Carolina QB Jake Delhomme
  4. Denver QB Jay Cutler
  5. New Orleans DE Charles Grant: Running back Deuce McAllister (knee) may seem like a stronger candidate from the Saints roster. But as indicated by the team's recent interest in free agent Shaun Alexander, there are no guarantees McAllister will be playing with New Orleans in 2008.
  6. Houston RB Ahman Green
  7. Tennessee DE Jevon Kearse
  8. Pittsburgh RB Willie Parker
  9. New York Giants TE Jeremy Shockey
  10. Dallas LB Zach Thomas
FOX Sports on MSN - NFL -

These seem more like has beens than comebacks to me, but what do you think?

I think its way too early to decide on any of them.
Actually on the Fox Poll, Jay Cutler was voted the most likely to comeback. I voted for Marc Bulger on there. Boy, was that a bad pick according to the rest of the voters.

come back from what exactly

the kid is only 25 ...... he had 20 TD's last year and 14 INT's and a passer rating of 88.1 ... not great numbers but he only has 3 years experience

i know this isnt your poll Bette .... but it seems odd to me ..... the kid has nothing to come back from .... he needs a couple more years to learn and a couple more good players to help him

His health issues simon. Take another look at the poll. They are all players who suffered from health issues. The writer of the poll wasnt thinking of players who just improved, he is talking about players who overcome their health problems. And with diabetes, Cutler has a stuggle ahead of him. I think there is a player on the Jets who has diabetes and has played for a few years but cant remember who.

I messed up the link and couldnt get it to work right. Dont know what I did wrong.

Re: NFL's biggest comeback?

Cutler has to wear a special bracelet to monitor his blood sugar and keep an eye on it while he's playing quarterback in the NFL, talk about multi-tasking! I practically had Jay Cutler on a highway to Canton but while I hope he can manage this illness I don't think he can do that in the midst of a game and be effective. I really hope i'm wrong however.

I hope you're right Simon. I think Cutler has tremendous ability and will be amazing to watch in the future. He makes the NFL better.
