| Accountability for teams with turds Disclaimer: Turds was the author's word, not mine. But after consideration, it fits Since the NFL is supposed to be cracking down on player misconduct, we(ProfootballTalk) sent an email to Greg Aiello(NFL spokesman) if any team has been penalized when one of its players was arrested in the last year. He said not yet, but they have been notified that they now face consequences in this regard. For starters, they will have to pay part of the suspended player's salary as a fine. Goodell also says he hasnt ruled out competitive consequences such as forfeiture of draft picks. Also what should be taken into account is whether or not the team knew about the player's issues. If so, the consequences should be more severe. Pro football also thinks there should be incentives for teams who dont have any players with issues off the field. | Re: Accountability for teams with turds Not sure I like this plan. I mean, if a team has repeat problems, I could see this possibly... but who saw a guy like Cedric Benson getting into trouble? I don't believe he had any past issues. I just wonder if there will be some kind of structure to this, or if it'll be judgment calls all the time.
