Saw the previews for the movie Papale yesterday...looked pretty good...(I was watching Poseidon, which was sort of okay...if you like total action and no dialog)...anyone going to catch Papale when it comes out?...any Eagles fan making it a must see?

I'd go see it in a heartbeat, because Disney's behind it. I don't care what anyone says, I love the Disney sports movies of late -- Remember the Titans, The Rookie, Miracle, even the Greatest Game Ever Played was a good flick. Haven't gotten to see Glory Road yet (didn't come around here, so I need to wait for the DVD) but that's a must-watch, and Papale would be too.

yeah, it seems to be a Miracle, Rookie type of movie...Disney now has a formula and it is working...so...bring the feel good sports stories out of the wood works...it should be good.

no...but the previews have been playing for months...so its got to be out soon...I will check...I find two dates 7/28 and then one in late August...so its probably 7/28

im sorry, i had no idea who Papale was

but now i see its Invincible

i fully intend to see it, the commercials look great

and i agree with Lefty, some of their sports flicks have been great

but dude, you need to run right out and see Glory Road, it was great

it was funny when that dudes mom was in the class

also funny was when that kid from the school went on the recruiting trip to the bad part of town and he was in the phone booth

Yeah, it was good - I rented it and watched it a few weeks ago. From the previews, Invincible (we didn't know the title when this thread started) looks to be as good as the rest of them. You know what impresses me? That's Greg Kinnear as Dick Vermiel, and it looks like he does a heck of a job.

I met one of Papale's old high school buddies last night. He was telling us a lot of cool stuff. Said Papale truly is just a great guy.

Went to go see Invincible on Sunday. Loved it. The football scenes were great; very intense, and good use of slo-mo. Wahlburg and Kinner were both excellent as Papale and Vermiel, respectively. I'm sure the movies take some liberty with the facts, but its presented that Vermiel is basically Papale's only supporter amongst the players and coaching staff, at least at first. Focuses more on Papale's family and friends than the other Eagles, save for Vermiel and his family, who get a lot of screen time. Anyone else been to see it yet?
