| Its the NFL; keep it that way The NFL is already the most popular professional sports league in America and has a growing legion of international fans. But why make teams play games that count outside the United States? Commissioner Roger Goodell's plan to globalize the NFL is just a get-richer-quicker scheme for a league that is already a multi-billion-dollar operation. The only thing this newfangled idea figures to accomplish is to ruin the NFL's product, if only for one game of one week of the season. Until Goodell dispatches a couple more teams abroad, and a couple more after that. He has said he wants to play several games a season outside the United States. But why? It's like expansion; it can only weaken the product. But Goodell should not make teams give up home games just so the NFL can market itself overseas. Exhibition games? Fine. The league has played many American Bowls across both oceans. It should even float the Pro Bowl and give other countries a chance to see the best players the NFL has to offer. Goodell also has talked about holding the Super Bowl overseas, and that would make sense, too, because the Super Bowl is always at a neutral site anyway and is more of a corporate event than a fan experience. What better way to market than to hold the league's title game in another nation? Because the teams have two weeks to prepare, they would have plenty of time to adjust to the travel and time change. It wouldn't affect the quality of the game. NFL and San Diego Chargers and New Orleans Saints "It's the National Football League, and it should stay that way"- Realfootball365.com Goodell is starting to scare me. More games outside the US? It makes sense to hold the Pro Bowl or the Super Bowl outside US borders I guess if it comes to a choice between that and regular season games. I dont think they need any more money. They need to concentrate on making better what we have now instead of concentrating on making it bigger.

| Re: Its the NFL; keep it that way i don't think there will be another team joining the NFL that isn't from North America...but much like Hockey and basketball i wouldn't be surprised to see a Canadian team join the NFL ranks soon. so for the international games, if the teams have a bye week the week after i don't see the problem, i mean everything went through last year without a glitch so why would it be a big deal having one game a year every year? as for the Pro Bowl, its just a bit of fun to congratulate the players on a good season and see the NFL's elite playing together for once as opposed to against each other

| Re: Its the NFL; keep it that way now even I think it would be stupid to have a European NFL team... for one it will be to difficult to recruit players secondly, most of the teams officials and personal would have to be in the US to conduct certain tasks anyway thirdly it would be to difficult to play game because the team would either be constantly traveling or current NFL teams would have to travel on non-bye week times fourthly, its just not natural fifth, i think it would kill the support for the NFL over here. the real NFL fans have teams already so they wont be packing out stadiums to watch a rival team every week if its happening on a regular basis this is not to say that i wouldn't LOVE an NFL franchise in London |
