| AFL: Grieb returning to SaberCats SAN JOSE, CA – All of SaberCat Nation can stop holding its breath –ArenaBowl XXI MVP Mark Grieb will return for his 10th season as the San Jose quarterback after signing a one-year deal, the club announced today. “Those three championship banners that are hanging in our arena are in large part due to Mark Grieb,” affirmed head coach and general manager Darren Arbet. “His dedication and sacrifice to this organization has been a catalyst to our success.” Grieb (6-2, 215, UC Davis) is regarded as one of the greatest signal-callers to ever play in the Arena Football League. His career resume is littered with league passing records and championships. In 2007, Grieb became the only passer in the history of the AFL to throw for more than 4,000 yards in four consecutive seasons. “I am happy to be back as a SaberCat, again,” smiled Grieb. “It’s the people here that make it enjoyable and exciting - the front office, coaches, players and especially the fans.
