| Senate May Take a Look At NFL Antitrust Exemption to End NFL Network Dispute ![]() Does any of us know what our Senators ever do? Well, aside from criss-crossing the nation trying to get your vote for president? They are trying to get you the NFL Network. Two members of the Senate Judiciary Committee have sent a letter to the NFL saying that they may take a gander at the NFL's antitrust exemption if they don't make the NFL Network to more viewers. Which two Senators? Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt and Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa.. Both represent states who's hometown teams are set to be on NFL Network. The New England Patriots play the New York Giants on NFL Network on December 29th; the Pittsburgh Steelers play the St. Louis Rams on NFL Network tonight. "Now that the NFL is adopting strategies to limit distribution of game programming to their own networks," they wrote, "Congress may need to reexamine the need and desirability of their continued exemption from the Nation's antitrust laws."This isn't the first time a US Senator has sent a letter to the NFL this month. | Re: Senate May Take a Look At NFL Antitrust Exemption to End NFL Network Dispute I have the NFL network, but I'd still like to ***** about something. I pay almost $50 a month for dish network, and almost every channel I have has commercials. Why do I have to pay for anything other than HBO, or something like that. I think the way to fix this is for congress to pass a law that says, if your network has commercials on it, you can't charge anything for it. That will mean the only way a network can make more money, is to be available to more people's TVs. There problem fixed, what else you got? |
