The Post Game Handshake

seems lately so much has been made about the post game handshake between coaches

in particular as a Patriots fan i have noticed people talking about a lack of class when it comes to their coach and his perceived lack of class and sportsmanship when it comes to this tradition

well let me tell you ...... moments ago Mike Ditka was on Mike and Mike on ESPN2 ...... he told of how some coaches would talk to him before games and tell him .. win, lose or draw .. after the game they head straight to the locker room without any handshaking or pats on the back between the coaches .... and Ditka had no problem with it

our society as a whole has become too touchy feely and worried about appearances imo ............... OMG he didnt properly shake hands

Well, like it or not, it has become a part of the game. So when it doesn't happen, people notice.

Cool Re: The Post Game Handshake

There's nothing wrong with shaking hands after the game. I think it's good. It's called "SPORTSMANSHIP."

I agree, but at the same time - I heard Ditka's comments, and if both coaches agree pre-game not to do it, I'm okay with that too.

Got to agree...there is no lack of honor in playing your best, your very best and coming up short...if you got to lose, do so with grace...if you win, you can do it the same way.

Re: The Post Game Handshake

Whether Belichick shakes hands or not, he is still classless. He may as well not go outside of his character and pretend to care.

Re: The Post Game Handshake

No doubt its good sportsmanship. Want one of your kids to snub another team if they beat them simon??
Belichek doesnt care. Personally, I dont care that he doesnt care. Its just typical of the man. If he wants to snub the whole NFL, so be it. He's one heck of a coach, but his bedside manner, so to speak, needs work. I'm with Ditka in that I have no problem with it.

Hey, if floats his boat, hopefully he is set for life and doesn't really need friends in the NFL...

That's good because I doubt if he has any.

Re: The Post Game Handshake

I think too much is being made out of this handshake. It is their job to play ball. I don't go to all my coworkers and shake their hands after a hard days work.
