Would you believe that Alexander is out indefinitely with a broken bone in his foot?

Cool Re: The Madden Curse

I wish I would have known about this, before I took Alexander in one of my leagues.

Re: The Madden Curse

Shaun Alexander totally screwed up one of my fantasy leagues. Good bye to my first overall draft pick, as I am trying to send him to another team with other players in exchange for LaDanian Tomlinson. Corey Dillion won't take me far and I am still wondering about how productive Antonio Gates will be this season. I just acquired Vernon Davis for some guy on my bench (horrible).

Re: The Madden Curse

its hard to say if the curse is true or not. like most of the players that have been on it something major has happened but there are a few that nothing that major like eddie george or ray lewis, i mean u cant blame it on the cover it could happen to anyone, its football, anything can happen, its just a coincidence they happen to be on the cover.

like there are loads of ppl this season who u couldve made the curse argument for if they were on the cover

like larry johnson: not playing as predicted
trent green: serious concussion
tom brady: lost his recievers, not playing that great
t.o.: breaks finger
ben: motorcycle accident, not playing good

etc

Vince Young is set to grace the Madden 2008 cover. Good luck, son, you're gonna need it!

Re: The Madden Curse

The Madden Curse strikes again!

TAMPA, FLORIDA (TICKER) -- Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young left Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third quarter with a right quadriceps strain in his right leg... "He has a quad strain. We will evaluate it and will continue to evaluate," said Titans coach Jeff Fisher of Young. "He tried to say as loose as he could in case we had an issue with Kerry. At this point, he will just be day-to-day."

Right now, I'd have to go with the game. I mean, the SI jinx is hit or miss, but the Madden Curse NEVER FAILS!

Re: The Madden Curse

As soon as he came up limping, that Madden curse was the first thing that hit my head. John Madden needs to stop this mess and put himself on the cover every year or some retired player.

Re: The Madden Curse

the way i look at the Madden Jinx is the same way i think about the magpie jinx (you know see one magpie its bad luck all day, see 2 its good luck etc...)

if you assume bad luck will happen you pick up on any little thing that could be percieved as bad luck. now dont get me wrong my heart skipped a beat when Vince hit the ground and didnt back up...and then my heart just sunk when Kerry Collins took to the field ...but the post game report said that Vince could have carried on playing and finished the game easily but thought it best to rest it.

the thing about the madden curse is that it has come around in so many different ways, from season long injuries, to poor seasons, to bad hair cuts..and i think the less attention that is payed to it, the more chance there will be that the so called 'curse' will go away

Re: The Madden Curse

So the Madden 2009 coverboy is the recently retired Brett Favre.
Unless he comes back, I guess the Curse ends here, eh? Can't jinx a retired player.
