Hall Of Famer If They Walk Away Now

who in the NFL would be a Hall of Famer if they just walked away today ? ..... measure all their accomplishments up to now, and they would get in

i have a few

Brett Favre - Tom Brady - Peyton Manning - Marvin Harrison - Jr Seau - Orlando Pace - Adam Vinatieri - Ray Lewis

im sure i missed many, but this was off the top of my head this morning

honorable mention ... after this season they could get in if everything works out (wins the Super Bowl)

Terrel Owens - Randy Moss - Steve McNair - Micheal Strahan

How about the recently retired Tiki Barber? Slighly out of the context, but he has quite a few years to wait.

Dude what stats are you looking at...9,703 yards on the ground 118 total TDs...423 receptions...never missed a 1,000 yard season...best runner of the decaded...possibly a top 5 of all time and a bunch of records including season TDs...plus he as thrown for a few more...Are you nuts?...I would pull people out of the Hall to put him in. First ballot all the way.

Oh wait, he doesn't have a Patsie logo on his helmet...I understand your view now...lol...

Re: Hall Of Famer If They Walk Away Now

how about Tony Gonzalez? just broke the record for most TD's by a tight end and is without a doubt the best TE of my generation

Morton Anderson gets the nod for being an ageing kicker who can still do it at the tender ago of 400

Vinny Testerverde who has been passed from team to team serving as a backup and third stringer to guys who were in nappys when he was being drafted and yet still comes out and wins games when he is called upon

When I think of Hall of Famer, I think of someone with a long, fruitful
career, not blazing stars even though it doesnt always work out that way.
For that reason, Seau, Lewis, definitely Strahan, Morten Anderson, They do keep calling on Vinnie dont they?? Favre,
I'm not ready to put Owens or Moss in there.
McNair?? I really really like McNair, but I'm not sure of the Hall of Fame thing.
Another kicker, Gary Andersen?????????

Re: Hall Of Famer If They Walk Away Now

LT, Brett Favre, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, hands down. Tiki won't go in first ballot - a chronic fumbler usually doesn't make it there and yes, he got better towards the end but the HoF is based on a career not 3-4 seasons, methinks.

Vinny T., is a special player but a HoF'er? Again, not first ballot but eventually maybe. My gut says no though...

Priest Holmes was on his way to the HoF but injuries may have really hurt his chances.

Tony Gonzalez is HoF material for sure but first ballot??? I don't know...

As much as I hate to say this, Bill Belichek goes in once he retires. How can he not with what he's done with the Patriots?

Know what? Coaches will make the Hall before kickers do! The two Andersons (okay, not the same spelling but...) Morten and Gary should be in as should Jason Elam but those guys won't go in until way later, if at all!

Re: Hall Of Famer If They Walk Away Now

If Tomlinson got hit by a truck tomorrow he would be in. He is the only one of the top TD scores in history to be on a similar pace as that of the great Jim brown, who had more TDs than games played.

Moss is in as well.

Joe Gibbs should come out!

Not Owens?..he has played at a high level since 1996...how much longer do you want a career to be?...Moss right behind him...

I agree. He didn't really accomplish anything until the last five years of his career. He could not hold onto the ball before that.
