Ricky Williams has reared his head again. Word is that he is allowed to re-apply for re-instatement into the NFL after October 1st ... and he's going to do so.

"All indications I have are that he has an interest in playing," [Williams' attorney David] Cornwell said. "He's a very eclectic young man with a lot of interests, and I think that's good. It's good for the NFL to have such players.

"I don't think he would go through this process if he didn't have a desire to play."

And why not? I mean, Roger Goodell has had to deal with dogfighting, club shootings, spying on opponents, HGH suspensions, the Bengals, etc. I'm sure Ricky Williams' love of the hippie lettuce doesn't look so bad now, huh?
