Best Improved Team So far this exciting off-season, many teams have improved and will become a potential threat for the Super Bowl in the 2007 season. Which team do you think made the best improvements?

Re: Best Improved Team Well mostly because they are building their future around Alex Smith and doing it right signing Bryant, Jennings and drafting Davis as their major moves. They have some improvements on D that they made just not any high profile ones really but those kind sometimes turn out to be sleepers. I just think that the Niners were the worst team in the NFL and they made a lot of good moves to improve themselves. It all hangs on Smith though. Im not saying the Browns didnt do a lot to improve, they most certainly did but to be at the bottom and make significant strides in signings and draft picks to change that means more than a mediocre team making moves that to me werent as good. As for the Saints, Brees wont be able to play this year and my feelings on Reggie Bush are well known, the Lions changed coaches but coaches dont throw, catch and run with the pigskin so that doesnt mean much to me. My opinion, no better or worse than anyones. Im also impressed with the Jets rebuilding their O-line in one season and changing their whole secondary almost. Thats gonna pay off in the long run I assure you.

Re: Best Improved Team Okay, good points all. Like you say, its all on Smith now that he has some weapons. Forgot about the Jets. Drafting D'Brick and Mangold, adding Ramsay, drafting Clemens... they still will have some holes to fill in the years to come (Chrebet now, Martin a short ways down the road) but I too definitely like their approach to rebuilding. It will pay off for them in the long run.

Re: Best Improved Team While were on NY football (since New York doesnt seem to care about it!) the Giants signing a pass rushing linebacker in Arrington, a speedster in Moss for Eli to throw to, filling a need on the DL with Cofield and drafting Strahan's possible successor werent bad moves either. Ah! If only they didnt have the schedule from hell!!!

Re: Best Improved Team Don't tell me that you guys forgot about the good old Cardinals in Arizona! Alright, they haven't improved that much--but at least they made an impact. Edgerrin James may not work well without a line, but that is like an electronic with bad batteries. Once the Cardinals upgrade their line, like adding new batteries, the team/electronic device will work well. But the real question is, "When will the Cardinals buy new batteries?"

Re: Best Improved Team When the Cards line gets improved and they did some improving but when it gets to be solid Edge will be in his early 30s. I love what the Cards did however and if Warner can stay healthy they have a definite shot at the postseason in the AFC West.

Re: Best Improved Team The Dolphins are one of the more impressive teams out there today. They filled up with some key acquistions in the quarterback position while (the hometown) Jets made sure that they filled up all the positions that they were weak on. One bad thing about the Dolphins is that Ricky Williams won't be playing this season. Not that it would have made a definite impact, but he is still better than some of the players on the sidelines. One of the most interesting occurances I have heard about all year from the Dolphins, was that Marcus Vick was practicing with them to become a wide-reciever. He is a star quarterback (at least in college) and I was surprised to hear about how well he catches. That is a rare talent which I am sure will make him useful in the NFL. I have not heard about any contract negociations but he is a decent utility-player to have on your roster in times of need. Vick probably won't get used as a quarterback, since they are stacked deep in the depth chart on that position. Warner is one of my top four favorite quarterbacks of all-time. My other favorite quarterbacks are Joe Namath, Jay Fiedler (incredibly nice) and Steve Young. Warner definitely has the potential of having a decent year as long as he stays out of injuries. I think the biggest problem in his career at this point is injuries. He sat on the sidelines for a few years in St. Louis and was basically extra weight. But now for the Cardinals he will make a name for himself, again. Hopefully, he will make himself a pleasant reputation with the help of the fans. Edgerrin James is a controversial free-agent acquistion.

Re: Best Improved Team Ty Law might be a wise acquisition but I think their choice of drafting Matt Leinart was smart, too. He is basically their future. I probably won't see a lot of him on the field this year, but in the next three years he might be the best quarterback out there. The true question is, "Will he be a Peyton Manning or a Ryan Leaf?"
