There's definitely some intriguing match-ups during the first week of the 2006 NFL season. You've got the defending Super Bowl Champion Steelers locking horns with the Miami Dolphins and hopefully their new starting QB Daunte Culpepper on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Then there's a potential (though unlikely) battle between top QB prospects Leinart and Young when the Jets and Titans meet (even if drafted, will either start Week 1? Doubtful). K.C. - Cincy is a clash of two probable playoff contenders, Falcons - Panthers should be excellent, Chicago - Green Bay is always a classic. And you can't forget T.O.'s Dallas debut at Jacksonville and the Manning Bowl in NY.

Which games on the Week 1 schedule have your attention?

I am probably the only one but Seahawks-Detroit is the game I won't be missing. This will be a good opening game for the Seahawks.

On a realistic note I would say Cincy-KC, Atlanta-Carolina, and Minnesota-Washington are piquing my interest. Should be some good games there.

Yeah, a nice doughy opening game for Seattle.
If we set aside everyone's personal biases it is probably the Manning bowl. For obvious reasons. I haven't looked at the schedule that closely but who are New England and Philly playing?

Buffalo At New England, 1:00 & Philadelphia At Houston, 1:00

The Bills test out the new "teh Patreots r doomd" theory after all of their free agent losses, while the Eagles most likely get to be the first team to try and contain Mr. Reggie Bush in the National Football League.

Donovan McNabb's comeback will be interesting to see how he and the young receivers will assimilate. And I cannot emphasize enough how anticipatory I am in watching Reggie Bush in The NFL, so that is probably my highlight game. Even if it does involve the lowly Texans.

In my opinion, Colts - Giants are the best game of week 1. Peyton's goanna take his bro to school. Gotham: The Giants won't even make the playoffs this year much less get into the SuperBowl.

It will take a lot of things to turn the right way for the Giants to have a 9-7 or better record. But they have a lot of great talent returning and will have addressed the CB/LB needs. Still, looking at the schedule, you can't predict which teams will be good or bad.

Nevertheless, the Colts/Giants game will be fun to watch. The last time we played the Colts in the regular season, it was in 2002 while we were red hot late in the season. We killed them, the big play I remember is the first of the 2nd half with a statue of liberty bomb with Collins, Tiki...back to Collins to Amani Toomer for the TD.
