This year's surprise team?????????

Many years some team seemingly comes out of the blue and takes everyone by surprise. I remember being surprised by Kurt Warner and the Rams.Who do you think is going to be this year's surprise and why?For my grandson's sake, I'd love to say the Dolphins, but it just ain't gonna happen

I am going to say the Browns. Not just because of Quinn. They have upgraded their line, and will have a good running game next year. I expect a breakout season from Edwards if the QB can stay on his feet. They are not going to win the superbowl like the Rams did, but I bet they make the playoffs.

Would the San Francisco 49ers winning the NFC West be considered a surprise? Cause I think it's gonna happen.

Re: This year's surprise team?????????

im going to say the Titans. not just becuase im so biased but becuase people think we are now crippled now we have lost Bennett, although Young spread the ball out to atleast 7+ recievers a game and people think we have no run game, even though Vince was very close behind Henry in terms of rushing last season and he could be our primary runner like Vick is for the Falcons.

our defense has been revamped and is stronger than last season which, even though we were ranked last in the NFL we never really were

so yeah im going to go for the Titans

Re: This year's surprise team?????????

I dont think the 49'ers would really be a surprise. They looked last year like an up and coming team. Cleveland has upgraded, but that coach doesnt exactly fill me with confidence. Maybe I am not being fair and he just didnt have the right talent before. The Bucs, I am not so sure Garcia can do it again. Dont laugh, but I want to say the Cardinals.

Re: This year's surprise team?????????

Well, since I can't play the Niners card, I see three teams that had losing records last season and have a chance to turn it around. Two have already been mentioned in Cleveland and Tampa Bay, and the third is (don't laugh) the Buffalo Bills. They dumped 10 tons of attitude in McGahee, and I like their draft -- Lynch will start immediately at RB, Posluszny could well be defensive rookie of the year and Edwards will eventually be the starting QB, I think. If they're not better this year, they will be soon.

Talking Re: This year's surprise team?????????

So you dont think much of my Cardinal's remark. I keep remembering that game last year against Chicago. Yeah, they threw it away but they also got rid of that coach this year.

Cards, yeah, they have a ton of offensive weapons, but they still need upgrades on the o-line. The new coaching staff wants to work on the running game but without the hogs up front to open holes, defenses will be able to sit on the passing game all day long. Plus I'd picked the Cards to win the west the past two years and they haven't even come close to taking that next step, so I've been burned by them before. I still think they're close, but they're not quite there yet.

Re: This year's surprise team?????????

One of the great things about the NFL is that as they say on any given Sunday..........so anyone can be right and anyone can be wrong. Maybe even my grandson's Dolphins or another grandson's Vikings. Who knows???

But then there's another side of this, which team do you think is going to fall flat on its face? I keep thinking Peyton Manning is going to be "getting too big for his britches". Dont give me "the weapons " that may or may not be there. Attitude counts a lot.

Re: This year's surprise team?????????

Indy did lose some talent, but I think they'll be OK. I'm thinking Chicago and Seattle are the teams most likely headed for a fall. The Bears defense is falling apart and trading Thomas Jones was sheer lunacy, while the Seahawks are getting older and are down a weapon after the Jackson trade. I suspect one of, if not both of these teams, could well top out at .500 in 2007.

You two are a total trip!

Of course Simon is nicer than GDK! (Sorry GDK, don't be mad at me, but it is totally true!)
