2 rookies have been banned by the nfl from going to mini-camp Colts WR Anthoney Gonleaz and Packers RB Brandon Jackson publicly stated they wanted to go to camp but the luege has banned them because they have to go to player card shots Gonlez was a first pick second round value and Jackson was a 2nd round pick 3rd round value who saying we want to get better but the luege wont let them this could be hurting careers of furture stars saying that might being going to far though but still preventing players from getting better im disgusted in the leuge

I am thinking that what bears' is saying is that the players are being made to go to a photo shoot for football cards...this shoot is held yearly for the rookies....the top football card companies show up and take pictures of the rookies for their up coming release.

I think you have this thread backwards. These players want to go to camp. They want to bypass the photo shoot, but the league won't let them. it is the league that is trying to drain the money from the card deal.

after reading the thread proparly now all im gonna say is...WA! so a card company forcing these players to take these photograph thing which will disrupt their mini camp. wel firstly you gotta think why cant they wait until after mini camp, i mean if they are going to be used as season long playing cards then what happens if these guys get cut before the season starts ? and secondly dont these guys agents or the team or no one have a say in this matter? i mean you hear the word 'coperate america' thrown around a lot but are they suggesting that this multi-national company has more power over a player than his agent or team does?

I think it's a collective agreement with the players association...

The card companies make the most money by getting the product out to market the quickest...so they need the early photoshoots with the recently drafted players in their NFL uni...there is always a big rush to be the first to market on these things...and to have a good round number of top rookies...Gonzalez was a top pick for the Colts...the companies don't want him in later releases...

Also if these two bolt, more will follow...and really, the card companies put money in the players pocket long after their careers are over...so the Association tries to be please them...
