| Re: Ask The Experts ... NFL Here's the dirt on John Beck straight from his BYU collegiate bio: "Finished his career at BYU as the Cougars' second all-time leading passer with 11,021 yards ... also finished second behind Ty Detmer in total offense with 11,059 yards ... totaled 17 different 300-yard games, ranking tied for second with Jim McMahon and John Walsh for most career 300-yard games ... played in 43 games during his career, ranking second behind Detmer (46 games) ... totaled 79 career touchdown completions, ranking third behind Detmer (121) and McMahon (84) ... totaled a career efficiency rating of 141.29--the ninth highest career efficiency rating in BYU history ... the Mountain West Conference career record holder in total offense (11,059), passing attempts (1,418 ), completions (885), passing yards (11,021), touchdown completions (79) ... ranks second on the MWC career list with a completion percentage of 62.4."

| Whatever happened to that young running back, Gato or Cato or something like that? He was a bright star for the Packers a few years ago when they were going thru running backs like water thru a sieve. He worked incognito in a hospital one summer in Green Bay. I was surprised when they let him go?????????????? |

| Re: Ask The Experts ... NFL So these guys that didnt get drafted, if no one picks them up, they can go back to school, but they cant play ball at the college level again, right? Werent there a lot of underclassmen this year? Grandma thinks they should stay in school. How many of them on the average do go back at some time in their life? I know Bennett of the Vikings did. That's the exception rather than the rule, right???? |

| Re: Ask The Experts ... NFL If someone declares, hires an agent and goes undrafted then they are free agents and can sign with any team. I'm not clear on the rules but there is a draft that isn't publicized in June I think, something like a supplemental thing. |
| ||||
| Re: Ask The Experts ... NFL The Supplemental Draft is for players who either think they have remaining eligibility, don't declair for the April Draft, and find out later they're wrong, or in some cases, decide after the April Draft that they want to forgo their remaining eligibility and go pro. How it works is that any team interested in a player needs to tell the commissioner which round they'd want to pick said player. Teams with less than 6 wins have first crack at a guy, then the rest of the non-playoff teams, then playoff teams. If you pick a player in a certain round, then you give up that round's pick in the following year's April draft. |

| Re: Ask The Experts ... NFL Hi Left Noob. Thanks. Unfortunatly I understand the difference between releasing and the waivers system - what I don't understand is the reasons/situation behind a team using it or not. i.e. Why does a NFL Team release a player, as opposed to placing them on waivers (or visa-versa). Thank you anyway |
