The neutral site is fine. It would be nice if cold weather sites could host the game, but I can't blame them. It's much more than a football game, the super bowl. It's actually an entertainment bonanza with a football game to boot.
thats what im trying to say, that if there was an importance placed on the Pro Bowl, then it might be played at better level

and i didnt say anything about changing the location so im not quiet sure where everyone is getting that assumption i don't care where the Super Bowl is played be it on a tropical island or in 7ft of snow, whats the difference

That's the thing though, you can't put any importance on the Pro Bowl. Players shouldn't be playing all out like it's a regular season game. If I were in power, there would be no Pro Bowl game. Just name players to the all-star team and give 'em a trip to Hawaii, or scrap that too.

but if there is an importance on the All Star game in baseball then why not attatch an importance on the Pro Bowl game in football?

It's not the same thing. You can't play an all-star football game as if there was something on the line. The game has special rules (no blitzing) and players go there for the free trip and bonus money.

Plus there are rumors the NFL will move the Pro Bowl to the week before the Super Bowl (and any players who are in the S.B. would sit out).

im aware of the in's and out's of the Pro Bowl...the point im trying to make is WHY CANT IT BE CHANGED TO MEAN SOMETHING? is it written in stone somewhere that these are the rules and they shall not be changed under penalty of death or something?

i just think that people would enjoy it more, as would the players, and it would get a lot larger viewing audience if there was something at stake. plus there is the idea that players who are common foe's all year round will be playing together towards one main goal, as opposed to having a pillow fight together every february

Re: Ask The Experts ... NFL

Do you really want the game to be played like a playoff game? I know I wouldn't want any players injured in such a game.

Plus, I wouldn't want HFA in the Super Bowl to be determined in an all-star game in football. It's just not the same. With the rotating hosts, the only thing it would effect would be who gets to call the coin toss at the beginning of the game.

Because that is a stupid idea too. Bud Selig should be flogged for implementing that rule.

Hi,
I don't see why they are do it in the same way as the do the World Series...whoever wins the previous All Star game, so at least that way the players can at least make a look like they take care when they are playing in the Pro Bowl?

Well, it's easy really. Because of winter weather concerns, the Super Bowl is always played at a neutral site. So home field advantage isn't a concern.

Hi all! Question: Can you folks tell me if there are any other names for the game ball? Or some funny names you call it? Or is it just "ball"? *

Ususally they are talking about the running back, "carrying the rock". I haven't herd it in a long time, but I remember it being called the pig skin.
