I just saw this on another website. They're considering another reg season game abroad in place of a preseason game. Think it will happen? Isn't this cheating season ticket holders out of a game??

Yeah, I was reading about this myself, and I'm pretty sure we had discussed this here at some point but I can't find it. Anyway... yeah, I think it's a bad idea. Holding an exhibition game overseason is one thing, but forcing every team to play a regular season game internationally just doesn't seem too smart. Why abandon your domestic audience to some degree by trying to grow your international one? Not to mention that there would either need to be a lot of extra time left around the game for jetlag recovery or the quality of play would suffer.

I doubt domestic fan bases would feel cheated if they add a game to the season. The NFL seems set on trying to establish an international fan base and that's pretty much the only way they can do it.

No way, a 1,000 yard rushing season is already watered down as is 3,000 yards passing...you are ruining the stats man!...

I am all for lengthening the season. I think it is too short as it is. It always flies by.

Change is good but do you think Roger Godell is making a little too much change a 17th game the draft on Friday Night a bunch over-seased game including the Super Bowl im in highschool ive watch and understand the NFL for a bout 7 years and hering all these changes and im thinking wats going on here i dont get it

LOL, it's not all too much change when you look at the big picture. The Commish has to look at ways to expand the game and the exposure...even though it's huge as it is.

Hmm... good point, Goth. 1500 yards is the new 1000, though. Not sure what the new, unofficial standard is for passing, though.

its not the 17th game that others me its the Draft on Friday and the Super Bowl overseases that ticks me off i tried to get to get tickets to the Super Bowl last year which i didnt get but when win the Super Bowl i loved to be there but if i have to go to Mexico Canada or England to wacth

Yes, we did discuss it once before. As I understood it then, one preseason game would be dropped and added at the end of the regular season. I am ok with that. But this overseas stuff has got to go. The games will be televised but I am mostly thinking about the players. Its hard enough to go on the road coast to coast much less overseas. And forget the Super Bowl over seas. Even though it is frequently over rated, it should stay here. I'd like more football too, but do you really think the players could stand up to the rigors of a longer season???
