NFL players want "Three Strikes" policy

I'm hearing this for the first time on Mike & Mike this morning... apparently, the NFL players have told the union that they want a three strikes and your out policy when it comes to misconduct, as in the cases of the Bengals players and Pacman Jones. Apparently this is going to be discussed at the owners meetings. What do you guys think about this?

Cool Re: NFL players want "Three Strikes" policy

How about 2 strikes and your out? That's even better.

They must be thinking that all the bad press a few of them have been getting is making them all look bad.

Thumbs up Re: NFL players want "Three Strikes" policy

I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt here. Yeah, it makes them look bad but then again maybe some of them just want to set a higher standard. (Quit laughing fellas, there are some decent guys in there.) My first feeling, this is a good thing.

Re: NFL players want "Three Strikes" policy

If this is true, MAJOR props to the players who are going to pull for this. Then again, this isn't the MLBPA but nevertheless, this will take some major guts. I'm sure if misconduct off the field will bring consequences (either financially or whatever, players will rethink the way they live their lives.

Re: NFL players want "Three Strikes" policy

3? I think NFL players would need more strikes than a bowling alley to mess up for if they wanted to keep on playing!
