No way it's the Redskins, though... been there, done that. He and Snider did not exactly see eye-to-eye. |

| Re: Marty Schottenheimer....Where Does He End Up Chargers were not going to win with Marty, that's just the way it was. No matter who winds up coaching them next fall, they will win their division and make a run in the playoffs. As for Marty, i think he's done. Anyone that hires him immediately inherits his playoff record, meaning that even if he has a big regular season, they will just be waiting for something bad to happen in the big game.

| Re: Marty Schottenheimer....Where Does He End Up I really, really dont understand this at all. I mean I look at the Chargers record lately and I just dont get it. Could someone maybe enlighten me? Wherever he may end up, I'd say they would be one lucky type team. |

| Re: Marty Schottenheimer....Where Does He End Up Marty and the GM in San Diego couldn't stand each other. Ultimately, one of them had to go, and the owner sided with the GM over the coach. That's essentially all there is to it. Still don't think it was the right move, but hey, the Chargers have done well in the draft recently, so... who knows?

| Re: Marty Schottenheimer....Where Does He End Up It kind of sounds like cut your nose to spite your face stuff to me. Couldnt the owner have just told them "to make nice"? I dont think it was a great move either and I think the real losers will be the Chargers' players and fans. But then, again, like you said, who knows? They have been doing a pretty good job of winning so far so dont know why they wouldnt have kept on winning. |

| Re: Marty Schottenheimer....Where Does He End Up Raiders: Marty + Al Davis doesn't compute plus Al has Lane to abuse now for a while. Giants: If the Giants didn't fire Coughlin after last year than I don't know what they want to do or even if they just want to save money more than win. Texans: Hmmm. Now this could work for both sides. Browns: Welcome home Marty to a team that is rebuilding and a town he's familair with...good match. Crennel is a poor head coach. Chargers: Get your head out of you know where and rehire this proven winner! |

| Re: Marty Schottenheimer....Where Does He End Up As hard as this maybe to believe, I really do think it's possible he'll end up back with the Redskins in some capacity. While he may have got fired a few years ago by Snyder, it was not because of record, it was because of how things were being run, Snyder wanted some control back and Marty wouldn't give so they went their separate ways. Dan paid up his deal and Marty got to go after another job. from what I know, they still speak regularly and consider themselves to have a good relationship. If Gibbs Mk II goes badly wrong again this year, Gibbs could quit, or, if it goes very well, Gibbs could retire again. I don't see Gregg Williams or Al Saunders getting the job (just a gut feeling, Snyder wouldn't care less about Williams $1m payment if he is not the next HC) and I myself would like old Hog Russ Grimm but I could see either Marty getting the gig or coming in as GM for a dream ticket of him and Cowher and/or Grimm. You heard it here first
