Super Bowl trivia

With Super Bowl XLI coming up in just over a week, how about we start a thread dedicated to Super Bowl trivia questions? I'll start, and whoever gets the first right answer can post the next question.

So, what team is the only team in Super Bowl history to score 30 points in a loss?

Re: Super Bowl trivia

In the NFC, Detroit, Tampa, New Orleans and the current Phoenix team as the Cardinals (previously in St. Louis). In the AFC, Seattle, Houston, and Cleveland/Baltimore as the Browns/Ravens. The former Baltimore Colts are now in Indianapolis and have appeared in the Super Bowl.

What was the only Superbowl to be tied at the end of each of the first three quarters?

Actually, the six teams that have never qualified are the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints. The Ravens reached and won Super Bowl XXV, while the Seahawks were the NFC representative last season, losing to the Steelers.

Super Bowl XXXIX between the Pats and the Eagles.

It was 0-0 after one, 7-7 at the half, and 14-14 after three quarters.

What was the lowest scoring Super Bowl in history (combined points)?

Re: Super Bowl trivia

The lowest scoring Super Bowl in history was Super Bowl VII, 1973. The Miami Dolphins and the Washington Redskins scored a combined 21 points in the game. Anyone else have any good Super Bowl trivia questions?

That's got to be the Dolphins. Super Bowl VI, they lost to Dallas 24-3.

Next question -- who has the longest kickoff return in Super Bowl History?

Re: Super Bowl trivia

The city of New Orleans has hosted the game 9 times (IV, VI, IX, XII, XV, XX, XXIV, XXXI, XXXVI) -- what is the only municipal area to have hosted more Super Bowls than New Orleans?

The longest kickoff return was 99-yards by Desmond Howard of the Green Bay Packers, the MVP of Super Bowl XXXI. Howard also set a record for most all-purpose yards in the game. What other records did he set or tie that day?

Re: Super Bowl trivia

Desmond Howard also ties most touchdowns in a Super Bowl and highest average yards.

Here's the next question:
Which teams scored more points this year, the Bears or the Colts?

No, sorry, he only had 1 TD in the Super Bowl. The record is held by Roger Craig, who scored 3 TDs in Super Bowl XIX. According to Wikipedia, "He ran for 154 kickoff return yards, and scored the game-clinching touchdown on a Super Bowl record 99-yard kickoff return. Howard also recorded a Super Bowl record 90 punt return yards, thus tying the Super Bowl records of total return yards (244) and combined net yards gained (244)."
