Free Agency Sure-Things/Surprises

With free agency finally set to begin, it's always interesting and surprising to see the new player/team relationships.

What signings are a sure-thing?

What surprises do you think fans could see?

Where is T.O. going to end up? (KC, perhaps? Miami?)

Dante Culpepper? (a reunion with Moss in Oakland? Miami?)
Drew Brees? (Dallas?, Minnesota? )
Edge?

Okay, predictions are always fun. It's great to look back and see just how wrong you get them!

Edgerrin James - Colts, because of the new CBA and larger cap.
Daunte Culpepper - Raiders, perhaps in some kind of draft-day deal.
Drew Brees - Dolphins, because its a perfect fit.
Terrell Owens - Broncos, because I don't think there are any other serious suitors.
Mike Anderson - I still say Arizona winds up with him.
Jamal Lewis - Fails to get big money; signs with someone as a backup.
Chester Taylor - re-ups with Baltimore, becomes their new starter

If I even get half of these right, it'll be a small miracle!

Well, I see T.O. ending up on a team that has little wide receiver depth and needs a main guy. Miami is a good possibility, but T.O. needs to be the center of attention. At the same time though, they need to have that national spotlight and a contending chance. It would be weird to see him in Minnesota.

Culpepper would fit perfectly into Oakland. The hook up with Moss would be good. Although, the Jets could always try to trade for him.

Drew Brees would make sense in Dallas. Parcells would love a guy who's very effecient and commits little turnovers. He would fit the style of play.

As for the Edge, I think he'd make the best fit in Baltimore. Get rid of Jamal Lewis and stick the Edge in there. He could help that team out.

How's this for a surprise?

Want a surprise - how about Drew Brees to the Saints?

According to a report in the New Orleans Times-Picayune, it could well happen.

Quote:
The Saints reportedly are making an aggressive push to sign free agent Drew Brees, the top quarterback on the market... The Saints have been mentioned in some reports as a potential suitor for Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper, who is expected to be traded.
Do you think New Orleans has a realistic shot at signing Brees, and if they do actually manage to pick him up, what do you think they wind up doing with that No. 2 pick?

Edge to the Cards. Hot damn. The Cards just became a playoff team.

Huge move by Arizona. What about Minnesota inking Steve Hutchinson to an offer sheet for what would essentially be richest contract ever for a guard -- 7-years, $49 million with $16 million of it guaranteed? No way Seattle can match that. Shocking if they lost both him and Jurevicus right off the bat.

What does everyone think of the new deal Carolina gave DeShaun Foster? After the team cut Stephen Davis, they inked Foster to a new 3-year, $14.5 million deal and gave him the starting job. Good move or not?
