| So who likes the Packers? The Packers, Chargers, Browns, Vikings, and of course my Bengals are all in deep stuff if guys like Dan Snyder, Bob Kraft, and Jerry Jones have there way. It's just to cliche these days to say the Yankees ruined baseball so instead I'll just comment on why it's no fun to watch. Talking heads seem to agree, Chris Mortenson mainly, that play in the NFL is down because it is too difficult for teams with multiple stars to re-sign those players becaue of salary cap limitations. They conclude that because of this the NFL is watered down and not as fun to watch. They even use baseball as an example to illustrate thier point if you can believe that. "Like when the Yankee's and Red Sox are competing against each other for a World Series..... ya' know......... everyone in the country is interested.. and it's good for baseball" Mortenson analogizes. Hold on a second Morty, I do'nt know where your from, but I'm from Cinncinati Ohio, and I grew up living and dieing with the Reds. Last year I did'nt watch a single game. I could care less about Boston or New York, and when I know my team does'nt have a chance to even contend for thier division in April, well... then I do'nt care about your league either. If the NFL owners no longer employ reveune sharing in the league, then the majority of teams will be at a decided disadvantage. Likely not as bad as baseball. But let me ask you Paker fans, do you remember the 80's? It was bad, and I really do'nt wish to see it happen to my team either. This is the time to act, because once the new CBA is intact, there is nothing that can be done. Let the league know, "we dont want to see the Redskins playing the Patriots every year in the superbowl, and we will not support your league if you do not support our small market team!!!" |
