| Re: Possible NFL Head Coach Vacancies Quote:
Cowher looked burnt out at times this season and the Steelers defense of a title was pathetic. If football isn't in his heart, then he should get out. Parcells' return probably depends on their performance in the playoffs. If Dallas is eliminated in the first round, then I say he leaves. If Dallas makes a serious run, then I say he stays. Either way, they need to get a new defensive coordinator because they run the most vanilla 3-4 in the NFL. Green is toast. He has run out of excuses. The team is loaded with talent and they play in a weak division. Saban would be smart to stay in Miami. He calls the shots in that organization, not Randy Mueller. Plus, he doesn't seem like the kind of person that would give up too easily. Mora better hope the University of Washington feels the same way about him, because I would be willing to bet that Arthur Blank pulls the trigger. Blank has said that he is evaluating the entire organization, and I imagine he was less than thrilled with Mora's comments and performance this year. Shell should be fired. He has been absolutely awful. I don't care if it is only his first year, he doesn't have what it takes. However, the Raiders will probably make the wrong decision and keep him. Who do you see as potential fits in said vacancies? |

| Re: Possible NFL Head Coach Vacancies New York Giants (Tom Coughlin) - Gone. His lame attempt to shake up the playcalling this weekend will be the final nail in the coffin. Look for a total front office overhaul as well. Pittsburgh (Bill Cowher) - Pittsburgh area newspapers are confirming that Cowher will announce his retirement early next week; Russ Grimm and Ken Wisenhunt are the top candidates to replace him, and I'm hearing Iowa's Kirk Ferentz as a dark horse. Dallas (Bill Parcells) - It's him or T.O. and it's Jerry Jones' call. Arizona (Dennis Green) - I think he's safe for one more season, if only for the fact that the cheap-arsed Bidwells won't want to pay a coach who isn't coaching. Miami (Nick Saban) - I think Saban stays; the Bama hype is just that, hype, and he's even so much as said he will not be coaching the Crimson Tide next season. Atlanta (Jim Mora) - Yeah, he's out, if not for his stupid comments then for the fact that this team is headed in the wrong direction. They should've never fired Dan Reeves. Oakland (Art Shell) - Shell becomes the scapegoat and get's the axe, but who in their right mind takes over this mess in Oakland? Two more possible names on the outs: Carolina's John Fox and Cincy's Marvin Lewis. I personally doubt either will be fired, but there are light rumblings that Fox could be out if the Panthers fail to make the playoffs, and with the Bengals, it's more about the arrest record than the win-loss record. But how big of a deal is that to Mike Brown?

| Re: Possible NFL Head Coach Vacancies Saban isn't going anywhere the way the 'Phins chased after him 2 years ago but another underachieving season by his team and he could be shown the door. Art Shell has to take the brunt of having a horrendous team like Lefty said above. I get a feeling Bill Parcells will be coaching from the spirit world when he passes away! |
