Cool Battle of the Teams: 1977 Bucs vs 1980 Saints?

Okay, you think you know football...who would have won a game between the 1977 Buc's (2-12) and the equally loveable 1980 Saint's. My money is on Archie Manning and the Saint's.

No way. The Bucs had a good defense that year ranking #12 in points allowed. It was their offense that was terrible. They were shutout six times that year. The Bucs lost six games in which they gave up 13 or less points. Plus they beat the Saints that year 33-14.

To steal the tile of a Ben Folds Five song, this game should be called "Battle Of Who Could Care Less". I say bucs in a field goal fest...9-6.

Wedge,Wedge, Wedge...sure they had a defense...sure they got it together near seasons end and pulled off two wins...that was 1977...by 1980 the seasoned Archie Manning had tucked an MVP under his belt, and would have fared better against the hapless Bucs who could not score if the ball bounced into the end zone and all they had to do was fall on it...my friend the Saints in a squeaker 13-9...
