Brett Favre!!!???

first off,Hey, whats up, i was looking around the internet to find a place to talk football cuz im a huge fan. this seems like a good place to talk. (if anyone knows more/a better place to talk football, please tell me)

1.now to the topic, Am a huge brett favre fan and hes been my hero ever sence i new what football was. I was just wondering what you guys would rank him with all the QB's in NFL History. Not just cuz im a fan, but id really rank him as number 2 or 3. Hes a great leader and knows how to win. Please dont bash at peoples ranking.

2. what do you guys think about brett comign back for 1 more year? i hate to say it, and i dont like saying it. but i think he will. if win at least 2 more games, theres a lil chance he will comeback. please tell me what you think

Favre 4 Ever

Re: Brett Favre!!!???

Welcome to GTG and this is one of the best places on the net to talk sports.

Your first point, among all-time QBs, I may have a tough time finding him a place in the top 10. But he is among consideration, no doubt. The only reason I may have trouble finding him in the top 10 is he only won one superbowl.

As for him returning next season, I can see it happening.

Re: Brett Favre!!!???

Yeah I think he might be better put in the top 20, but still a great QB who has had a ridiculous career. I think he will stop playing when he wants to stop playing and that should be good enough....

Re: Brett Favre!!!???

Welcome to GoTeamsGo, SoSo. Glad you found us!

I don't want to bash Favre, because he's been a lot of fun to watch throughout the years, but he will have a mixed legacy. On one hand, he's been a Super Bowl Champ and an MVP, and he's thrown a lot of TDs in his career. On the other hand, I heard he was darn close to becoming the NFL's all-time career interceptions thrown leader.

He was a good one, but like Domer, I think he's a top 20 guy at best.

I'd give him top 10...maybe...maybe top 5 but I just don't see him as a top two QB...he'd have to make it over Golden Joe, Staubach (my personal favorite), and a few others...not sure that he is who I would have steering the ship in a critical game...

I think they will have to pry the ball out of his cold dead hands to get him to sit...and the biggest question really is...is Rodgers ready?

Even though I always loved Joe Namath ('69 Super Bowl), I know that I am not going to win this argument. I can almost predict that you are going to pull out the classic "I want to kiss you" interview and rub it in my face. Plus, they both have the same number of Super Bowl rings so I don't really have a leg to stand on here. But, Joe Namath in my opinion is the better quarterback. He had poise in the pocket and an arm that could send the ball over the moon!

Welcome to the Forum Soso. I think Brett Favre should retire. Favre is one of the best QB's in NFL history. But after watching him the other day against the Jets, I had to ask myself why is he doing this to himself? If he comes back for 1 year on a contending team that just needs a QB, like the Ravens did with McNair this year, that's different. But to go back to the Packers serves no purpose - for the Packers - or Favre...Unless of course, he just wants to get out of the house.

Re: Brett Favre!!!???

I think he had a good run for a couple of years. I do not think that makes him a top 5 QB. There have been others that did it their whole career. He also throws entirely too many INTs. That has always been the one thing that has held his teams back. It seems like he tries to win games all by himself. He is a hall of famer though. He has done enough to make it first ballot.

Dont let anybody else's opinion discourage you from how you see him. One of my favorite QBs was Brian Sipe. Their is no way he will be considered a top 5 QB, but he is ranked up there for me.

I agree with Azrael. After Holmgren left the Packers Farve became an interception machine. Give him like 5 great years and bundles of TD passes with INTs hanging from him after that. He's got a ring and another Superbowl apperance so yeah he makes the hall but I don't think he's one of the greatest. He has the decision making of Heath Shuler, some of the throws he has attempted looked like punts. The only good thing about him for the Green Bay Packers is that Aaron Rodgers is horrible and they need Farve until a heir apparent can be drafted or signed.

Re: Brett Favre!!!???

I think he has another year or two in him, but they need to get him some help.

He is diffently a HOF'er, but not a top 5 all time. But a great player.

Which of course begs the question who should be a top five?...cause he is certainly knocking on the door of the exclusive club.

Question Re: Brett Favre!!!??? www.sportstrail.com

Farve has what it takes, gut and skill. The super bowl rings help solidify himself as one of the best. It is too close to call one better than the other. They would all lead that ultimate top NFL superstar team to victory. Show us your best BRETT impersonation @ Sports Trail - Share your sports videos
