Running Up The Score

this would qualify for the NFL and College Football

is it a problem when teams run up the score ?

we have some Giants fans here, how did you feel when they were losing 42-3 ?

if a college team wins a game 63-0 , is that a problem ?

i remember a few years ago, i believe it was Cunningham on the Cowboys, he was going for a record for most field goals in a single game.....the Cowboys were accused of running up the score

just ridiculous

in my opinion "running up the score" is not a problem for either team

i say, dont blame me if your team sucks

dont be mad at me if i put 63 points on your team, be mad at your crappy defense

Re: Running Up The Score

I must agree with that, Simple Simon.

Same things apply to baseball. Known as the "Inside The Park/Player Laws" you cannot steal if you are leading after the 7th inning. I would steal a base whenever I can!

Cool Re: Running Up The Score

In the pros, there's absolutlely no such thing as running up the score.

But college is a different story because sometimes the talent differential is so great. For example, if a team is winning 49-0 in the 3rd quarter, there's no reason to pass. Just keep running. And if they can't stop you, that's their problem. But there's no reason to be passing and calling time outs etc...

Which means you would show up the pitcher and next game he would stick a fastball in your rib cage...

if a team is winning a baseball game 12-0 in the 5th inning, and their pitcher goes on to strike out all 27 batters on the other team......is he showing up those batters ?

your logic seems to suggest he is

Nope...its not an extra...its just part of the regular flow of the game...now if you are up 12-0 and you bring in a reliever throwing 102 mph to get the K's then a big yes...

Re: Running Up The Score

If you are winning 12-0 in the 5th you bring in your mop of pitchers just to get in some innings for the year.

Ex:Heath Bell, Chad Bradford, etc.
