| Relocation in the NFL I took up an interest in possible future expansion teams and that got me thinking to teams that may be moving. The most pervasive rumors to catch my ears have been the Saints to San Antonio after Katrina, the Chargers to LA due to leasing issues in San Diego, and possibly moving the Buffalo Bills to Toronto. Other rumors, some are more wishful thinking than actual speculation, include moving the Jacksonville Jaguars to Orlando. Relocation is really the first phase before any kind of expansion, and it does work. The Baltimore Ravens/Browns, the Tennessee Titans/Oilers, the Arizona Cardinals, St Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, and others are all teams that have ended up in new cities after problems arose with their first venue. Not sure this is as relevant, but I do wonder why some of those moves keep their original names and others don't. The Baltimore Browns didn't become the Ravens until Cleveland got back in the NFL. The Oilers became the Titans. But from Chicago, St Louis, to Phoenix, the Cardinals have remained. Granted, that's a bad example due to historical significance. As much as I'd like to see them become the Arizona Firebirds, the Cardinals are the oldest team in the NFL, so I really don't think they'd change the name. Maybe the logo... Anyway, what teams do you think are ready to pack up the Uhaul? And to where? |

| Re: Relocation in the NFL As much as I dont want to say this, The Minnesota Vikings could be a real attrative team, and since the lease for the Dome is over in 2011, they could be a real option if they dont get a new stadium. I would however love to see 5 teams in each division again, however I think when the NFL expands again, there will either be 2 new teams or 4 new teams, 4 would be a little better, that way 2 divisions out of the 4 in each conference would have 5 teams in it, setting up for the next expansion of another 4 teams later on. I think their is enough talent for them to add 8 teams at one time though. |

| Re: Relocation in the NFL It looks like its going to happen, that a team moves to LA. The governor has said he will sign an environmental exemption bill that will allow for the building of a stadium in L.A. He wants the team and the jobs that will follow. A billionaire developer has apparently pledged to build the stadium. I read there are 7 teams that are of interest. Although the Governor would rather it wasnt any California teams, three of the teams are the Chargers, Raiders, 49ers. Another is the Jags. Thats all I have found so far.
