Damon Allen passing record

Have you guys heard about this? Damon Allen (who I believe is Marcus' little brother) of the CFL's Toronto Argos broke Warren Moon's all-time professional football record for the most career passing yards. I don't have the number in front of me, but I believe he's over 73,000 total yards and counting. Makes me wonder if this guy belongs in Canton. Remember, its not the NFL Hall of Fame, its the Professional Football Hall of Fame, and with Allen's stats, I think I'd like to see him voted in. What do you think?

I am pretty positive he'll be voted in. I mean why not?

Re: Damon Allen passing record

He should definitely get into Canton. Having over 73,000 passing yards in any professional football league is amazing. It's not like it's done every decade.

Big props go out to Damon Allen.

That's what I say too, guys, but I'm sure there's some naysayers out there who think it shouldn't count as much because it wasn't against NFL defenses. Anyone think there's any validity to that argument?

Re: Damon Allen passing record

I think Doug Flutie is prove that the numbers while much greater doesn't reflect a terrible down grade of the level of competition.

But hey, if CFL tenure is counted...then Hershel Walkers USFL and NFL numbers make him a great candidate...I think Walker had +16,000 all purpose NFl yards...if you take in the seasons he logged in the USFL...he has +23,000 easy (I think?)....and would go in...I like what Allen has done, but I's give Walker 1st dibs...
