| Last words on Brett Favre (I promise) Everyone has had enough of the will he or wont he soap opera. It appears to be finally over. But boy, did we have fun hashing and bashing. I gleefully hauled out the story every season imagining the moans and groans of my fellow members. One thing though, through all this hoopla we forgot something. Underneath it all, Brett Favre is a decent, good sort of man on the field and off. We know about his charitable foundations. We know about his devotion to his lovely wife, Deanna. We saw his steadfastness through several personal tragedies. We saw him on the field. We saw his leadership and the respect his teammates gave him. We remember his wild youth and his addiction to prescription medications. The tears, the back and forth decisions, this was the behavior of a man who truly loved the game, loved to play. Some of you know what it feels like when it becomes harder to do things you once did. You know how hard it can be to give those things up. Brett Favre was never about the money. He is among the lower paid quarterbacks in the league. He's a human being like all the rest of us. He's a superstar and so his weaknesses like indecisiveness glare in the spotlight. Just don't forget, he's really a good man.

Yeah, Goth, ten years from now there will be some other annoying player not sure if he wants to retire, and another that works out in his driveway... |

| Re: Last words on Brett Favre (I promise) Either Brett Favre will do really well and the Vikings will be in the playoffs or Brad Childress will be the next offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots in 2010. |
