Last words on Brett Favre (I promise)

Everyone has had enough of the will he or wont he soap opera. It appears to be finally over.
But boy, did we have fun hashing and bashing. I gleefully hauled out the story every season imagining the moans and groans of my fellow members.
One thing though, through all this hoopla we forgot something. Underneath it all, Brett Favre is a decent, good sort of man on the field and off.
We know about his charitable foundations. We know about his devotion to his lovely wife, Deanna. We saw his steadfastness through several personal tragedies.
We saw him on the field. We saw his leadership and the respect his teammates gave him.
We remember his wild youth and his addiction to prescription medications.
The tears, the back and forth decisions, this was the behavior of a man who truly loved the game, loved to play. Some of you know what it feels like when it becomes harder to do things you once did. You know how hard it can be to give those things up.
Brett Favre was never about the money. He is among the lower paid quarterbacks in the league.
He's a human being like all the rest of us. He's a superstar and so his weaknesses like indecisiveness glare in the spotlight.
Just don't forget, he's really a good man.

Speaking of TO, the fans in Buffalo are nuts about him. He even has his own cereal now. It has his picture on it. If I tell you the name of the cereal, you are going to think I am spoofing you. But I read it in a couple of different places on the Internet.
Its Toasted Oats.

I'm sure there will be others that will fight for headlines during the NFL off-season. Maybe years from now Peyton Manning will be deciding if he wants to retire or not and Plaxico Burress will be signed by Buffalo.

Yeah, Goth, ten years from now there will be some other annoying player not sure if he wants to retire, and another that works out in his driveway...

Either Brett Favre will do really well and the Vikings will be in the playoffs or Brad Childress will be the next offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots in 2010.

You're spoofing us about Childress being oc for the Pats right? I see him more as flipping burgers at Mickey Dees.

Re: Last words on Brett Favre (I promise)

Now don't go making promises you can't keep Bette You know his name is going to come up this season and you won't be able to help yourself. I've already read several places that he is not meshing very well with his team mates. I think it was an article on Espn where he said something along the lines that it is an adjustment and that he didn't know what the locker room was like before because he wasn't there. Yeah that's the problem Brett wake up. Did he really think everyone was gonna be supportive?

I made that promise when I thought he was going to retire. Now that he's playing again, I'm not so sure. Besides, its sooo much fun stirring things up.

Of course. He's Brett Favre. Whats the matter with you?

Re: Last words on Brett Favre (I promise)

Was that the first or second or ??? How many times did he say he was going to retire again? Are you ready for some football? Go Green! On another note saw something about stadium rules concerning balls hitting that (everything is bigger in Texas) video screen hanging in new Cowboy stadium.

Are you messing with me squirrel?
The screen will stay where it is for now. And its a dead ball if it hits any object that isnt a player.
Go green, ha! How many turnovers did they have against the Jags?

Re: Last words on Brett Favre (I promise)

I don't know how many I lost count and punters might start hitting players because they have to kick the ball so low as not to hit the screen
