Do you think he's ever going to amount to anything close to what a number one overall pick should be in the NFL?

I have a little bit of a soft spot for him because lets face it the 49ers have totally messed up with the poor guy sense day one. Five different offensive coordinators? I don't care who you are or how high your IQ is there is no way a QB is going to develop normally in the NFL having to literally learn a new offense every year like he's pretty much had to.

Yeah, Davidd, I think he's a big ol' bust... I do like him, too, but he just doesn't have the arm strength or any level of consistency... his weapons are below average, and the Offensive cordinator thing doesn't help...

But through all the mess ups the team has made, when push comes to shove A-Smith just isn't that talented, by the standards of the NFL.

Agree with skinny. The new head coach might be able to get a little more out of him this year, but he just will not ever be worthy of that number 1 pick.

Matt Leinhart woulda been the unquestioned number one draft choice the year A-smith went first... but instead fell far the next season and doesn't even start for his team... Dumb matty, dumb!

Naw, not a bigger bust... and I am not saying he is good, but if he'd have gone to the draft the year before he did, he'd be a starter for the 49ers today, and do a better job there, no doubt!
