Wayne Hogan received a rousing ovation from the Florida State search committee following his day-long interview for the director of athletics position, but a new candidate emerged shortly after.

Utah State director of athletics Randall W. Spetman, will receive the fourth and likely final interview for the vacancy created by Dave Hart's resignation after 13 seasons. The selection committee quickly and unanimously recommended that Spetman interview for the job on Friday after his interview was presented to the committee for discussion by chair Mary Coburn. Spetman was hired by Utah State in June 2004 after serving as athletic director at the Air Force Academy, his alma mater, since 1996. A retired Air Force colonel and fighter pilot, whose military service included serving as Chief of Bomber Planning in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, brings a diverse background to the committee.
