Florida State has just announced that the contract of Athletic Director Dave Hart will not be renewed. The 58 year old Hart said he respected the decision and called it an "extraordinarily difficult" day. He will reportedly receive a $475,000 payment in January of 2009 as a buyout of some sort. Thoughts?

My guess would be that he wanted to let Bowden go as head coach #1. It sounds like there is something else in the mix as well. It should be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Either he did want to let Bowden go, or he didn't. Anyone know how big of a Bowden supporter Hart was?
