... or so say many Florida State fans as well as members of the sports media, who are now subjecting FSU coach Bobby Bowden to the same kind of talk that's surrounded Penn State's Joe Paterno for years. He's too old. The game's passed him by. Yadda yadda yadds. The most recent catalyst? The Seminoles gave up 350+ yards and 24 points to Duke yesterday. A poor performance, to be sure, but how much of it is Bowden's fault?

You can fire him...what would be come of the minimum security prison that is FSU?...they need the warden looking the other way at his team s behavior...

Oh, come on. Sure FSU has had their problems off the field but so has pretty much every major program. What's the last big problem that the Noles have had?

Sure the team's slipped but they can still have a good year. And they'll get better.

Can't imagine that many people would want to fire Bobby Bowden at this point. Does anyone really want to fire Bowden or is it just media hype?

I'm not a major college football fan but Bowden never looks like he's doing anything. It appears that all the assistant coaches are running the team and he sort of just stands there.

Probably just media hype, like it was last year with JoePa. But I'm sure there are a number of fans who look at his advanced age, look at how hands off he is with his team, especially in practice (as Pundit pointed out), and automatically think they need new blood in the form of a younger coach. Good luck finding someone who can run that program even half as well as Bowden has over the years!

I dont think that the problem lies with Bobby Bowden. I think that Jeff Bowden is the problem. The offence has looked terrible this year. If the defence doesn't score then we lose. What happened to the feared Wienke and Ward offences???

I think Bowden and JoPa can both take a leason from the Great Coach Lou Holts. Get out before your Coaching Legend statis becomes too tarnished.

Coaches like Bowden and JoPa have earned the right to never be fired, that would just be wrong, but someone needs to explain to them that its time to retire with dignity.

I will confess I was as giddy as a school girl watching the Noles get shut out at home.

Bobby says that he does not do much during the games these days, that he leaves that to the coordinators and position coaches.

But a legend like Bowden and Paterno deserve to leave on their terms.

But mark my word, if he comes back next year, and has a good season, as Paterno did last year, the talk will cease, for that season at least.

College football fans are fare weather fans most of the time, the teams does bad, they hate you, they do good, you are the talk of the town.

Bobby personally is a piece of crap! Just read where he would not let the Warren kid go back to Tennessee. I guess he still resents the fact that Tennessee kicked our a$$ at the first BCS game in '98. The kids mom has cancer for crying out loud. Past your prime, thanks for the memories, next!
