Florida Panthers Eddie Belfour and Ville Peltonen were arrested on South Beach yesterday after a fight with a police officer. According to the AP, "The 41-year-old hockey player refused and walked toward the officer 'in a fighting stance' and pushed him, a Miami Beach police report said... Belfour pulled away from the officer trying to arrest him and grabbed his shirt. The hockey player then fell forward on the ground, kicking and refusing to place his hands behind his back... Belfour had slurred speech, blood shot eyes and smelled of alcohol, police said. He was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer without violence."

So who's more of an idiot? James Posey of the Heat, or Belfour? Posey was charged with a DUI, and will probably get a slap on the wrist. Belfour got his face smashed on the sidewalk, then he got tazed, and I'm sure he was more hungover than Posey the next day.

I gotta go with Posey on this one. Maybe the Miami Beach Police could've knocked some sense into him, too.

Eddie is a fighter...he has picked fights in full hockey pads with teamates...

Yes, i read they tazed him.
I hung his mug shot up on my bulletin board. true the man has alcohol problems, but man, he's never short a good story. I miss him.

not sure - well i know I'd never want him back in net for the Leafs but the guy is just - I don't know, what's the word?
unpredictable. entertaining. at least he wasn't driving.
I love that the last time they picked him up - no it was two times ago - he offered the cops a billion dollars if they wouldn't bring him into the police station.

I'm pretty sure Porter would destroy him in a fight, but Belfour is a bit more tested "in the ring."
