Belfour ties Esposito

Looks like Ed Belfour has reached another goaltending milestone. According to the AP, "Belfour made 29 saves for his first shutout in nearly three years and Jay Bouwmeester scored late in the second period to lift the Florida Panthers to a 1-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night... The 41-year-old goalie's 76th career shutout drew him even for eighth on the NHL career list with Esposito, who had two shutouts with Montreal at the outset of his career before going forging a Hall of Fame career with the Chicago Blackhawks." So if Belfour a Top 10 all-time goalie, in your book?

Huh...wow...he has the numbers, but...hmmm....let me count...in the modern day era, Dryden, Esposito, Hasek, the fool in Jersey (forgot the spelling of his name), Sawchuk...Plante...Parent (though debateable)...

No, I think I can find a few more...not top 10...top 20 maybe?...

"his first shutout in nearly three years" - wow. that was long in coming.

Top 10. Hm. Doing what Gotham did - Plante, Dryden, Roy, Esposito, hasek, brodeur - Cheevers, parent, Smith?, Vezina - Gump, sawchuk.
It's tough. Definitely one of the best that's ever been, but there's been a lot of greats.

Glad to see Cheever in there...though I'd take Belfour over him...he had that great Boston Offense and Orr helping out...
