Keenan quits!

My first title with an exclamation point.
He stepped down from Panthers gm position and now Jacques Martin is both supreme leader and commander, gm and coach.
Keenan has said nothing to give us insight and Martin, who says he has always wanted to gm, says it was nothing to do with he and keenan not getting along.
Keenan sells Luongo and brings in bertuzzi, also gets Auld and Belfour (whispering, good luck, fellas) and leaves.
what next for mighty mike keenan?

Re: Keenan quits!

I know Ranger fans would welcome him back with open arms...although maybe not now with Renney doing a superb job.

Re: Keenan quits!

His history is something else. he was head coach of the flyers till 88. He went from there to the Blackhawks to coach and manage till 92, when he resigned. They say he wasn't given enough power.
He coached the Rangers, and they won in 94.
Then it's St. Louis, Vancouver, Boston and Florida.
Funniest thing mentioned in the Star is, he refused to make the players wear a new version of the Blues shirt because he thought it was ugly.
The Florida thing - there seems to be bad blood between him and Martin because, it is noted, Martin went over keenan's head one too many times. keenan had 2 years left on his contract. Bummer shaping a team and then leaving before season starts - hell, training camp hasn't even begun.

You mean 1,081 posts and no exclamation point?...I expect one from you when Columbus makes the playoffs...
