Re: Florida Marlins winning streak

The Florida Marlins winning streak is up to nine games after yesterday's 9-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. In the game, Dan Uggla hit a homer and knocked in four of Florida's nine runs. Josh Willingham also homered, and Scott Olsen spread three hits over eight innings of work to earn the win. It's the Marlins longest winning streak of the year. How long can they keep this up?

Re: Florida Marlins winning streak

I'm just surprised that they have a chance of making it to the Playoffs this year. Before the season we were all scratching them off the list and forgetting about them this season. How can you get rid of half your veterans and still have success? Luck.

How lucky will they get this season?

And just like that, the streak's over. Guess we jinxed them with this thread?

Re: Florida Marlins winning streak

And again, the Marlins are on a winning streak - four in a row after today's 8-5 comeback victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Did you know that, according to the AP, the first team in MLB history to have a winning record after being 20 games under .500? Not too shabby for the team with the youngest team and the lowest payroll in baseball, eh?

Re: Florida Marlins winning streak

Do you think they will go after any major players this off-season with all that money laying around?

Re: Florida Marlins winning streak

The Marlins won't be spending too much money unless they're able to secure a new stadium somewhere in the US. That's their owner's big bone of contention with the league and city of Miami.
