Re: Joe Borowski and the Marlins bullpen

I'll admit, I haven't been following the Marlins too close, but it looks to me that they have one heck of a bullpen. Closer Joe Borowski has saved 10 consecutive games and is 30-for-33 on the year, and the rest of the pen held the Brewers scoreless for seven innings in a 6-5 comeback victory last night. In doing so, they bailed out starter Ricky Nolasco, who gave up seven hits and five runs in just over two innings before leaving with leg cramps. What do you guys think about Borowski and the Marlins bullpen?

Re: Joe Borowski and the Marlins bullpen

Borowski has been a pleasant surprise. I recall talk that he was being shopped around the deadline but I see no reason why they should trade him now. Make a run for the playoffs, you never know.

In the off-season, if he's still under contract they should deal him for pitching if they can.

Re: Joe Borowski and the Marlins bullpen

I don't think the Marlins will make the Playoffs this season. It is obvious that the Mets have won the NL East Division, and the Braves are right behind them. If the NL Wild Card doesn't go to the Braves or the Mets, I don't think it will come around to the Marlins. It has been a great season considering the players they have on team--most of them being rookies or unexperienced veterans. Built around Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera, I would say that they have the players to win a future championship.
