| Marlins lock up Ramirez for six years The Marlins and Hanley Ramirez have reportedly come to terms on a six-year, $70 million contract. A big step in the right direction for Florida. Assuming that the deal starts next year, it'd buy out all three years of arbitration and three years of free agency. Given his numbers, Ramirez could stand to make $40 million in arbitration alone. As a 28-year-old free agent, he would have been in line for one of the biggest contracts in major league history.
