Marlins lock up Ramirez for six years

The Marlins and Hanley Ramirez have reportedly come to terms on a six-year, $70 million contract.
A big step in the right direction for Florida. Assuming that the deal starts next year, it'd buy out all three years of arbitration and three years of free agency. Given his numbers, Ramirez could stand to make $40 million in arbitration alone. As a 28-year-old free agent, he would have been in line for one of the biggest contracts in major league history.

Kudos for them, Ramirez has been said to be the best guy to build a team around. Great power, great contact, and even a decent glove. Whats not to like? They seemed to have got a great deal out of him.

Great job by them, Ramirez is one of the best shortstops in the league.
