Florida stuggling at Dolphin Stadium

Interesting, and rather surprising, tidbit from the Miami Herald: "Dontrelle Willis hasn't won since May 29. The Marlins have gone the entire season without winning a home stand... The Marlins played dreadfully at home during the first half, finishing eight games under .500 in their games at Dolphin Stadium. Yet they have a winning road record." So why haven't the Marlins been able to win consistantly at Dolphin Stadium?

They probably have more fans pulling for them on the road than they do at their stadium.

Re: Florida stuggling at Dolphin Stadium

Last night, it was reported for perhaps the first time the Miami fans actually boo'd Willis as he left the game.

And amongst all the talk that Willis will be traded (to a west coast team), only one scout was present (an assistant in the Royal's organization).

I will say that this appears to be a pretty low point as far as Willis' stock goes.

Very interesting. I wonder if the Marlins regret not trading him earlier.

I don't see any reason to be trading him. He is a tough left hander. They are not that common. Unless it is a deal that is overwhelming, I don't move him.

Re: Florida stuggling at Dolphin Stadium

Well, thanks largely to a pair of homers by Miguel Cabrera, the Marlins actually won a home series this weekend, beating the Nationals 5-3 on Sunday to accomplish the feat. It's the first time since May they've been able to win a series at Dolphins Stadium. So can they make it two in a row?
