The Florida Marlins have now lost four straight games after dropping a 7-5 decision to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 10 innings yesterday. The Marlins allowed the Bucs to hit a season-high four homers during the evening. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, "Over a five-pitch span in the 10th, Xavier Nady and Ryan Doumit hit back-to-back, two-out solo shots to right field off Gregg. That sent the Marlins to their fourth loss in a row and dropped them to 15-23 at Dolphin Stadium... The Marlins, who had not allowed four or more homers in a game since Sept. 24, are a season-worst six games under .500 for the second time and first since they were 16-22 on May 14."

So what do the Florida Marlins have to do to break out of this slump?

Well, the losing streak is over. Scott Olsen struck out 10 batters for the Marlins today in a 9-7 Florida win over the Pirates. They almost blew it, though. Florida lead 5-0 and 8-2 at one point before allowing the Bucs back into the game with a five-run seventh inning. A win's a win, but this team definitely still seems to be on shaky ground.
