Miguel Cabrera: Best Bargain in Baseball

I am in absolute disbelief that a guy in this day and age, with baseball's economy being what it is, can hit .323 with 33 home runs and 116 RBIs and wind up signing a new contract worth less than half a million dollars. But that's exactly the kind of deal that Miguel Cabrera of the Florida Marlins agreed to yesterday -- 1-year, $472,000 as long as he remains in the majors.

What do you guys think about this?

I think "best bargain in baseball" is probably the understatement of the millennium.

Re: Miguel Cabrera: Best Bargain in Baseball

David Wright just got a raise to $374,000 for this year...lol. Both these excellent players know they'll be cashing in whenever they're arbitration eligible.

Cabrera just may not be cashing in in Florida.
